The Hatu Peak | Narkanda
Hatu Peak is the second-highest peak in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located at an elevation of 3400 m above sea level.

Situated at a height of 9000 feet, this town attracts tourists for its ethereal natural beauty and its beautiful apple orchards. Surrounded by tropical forests and majestic hills, this is one place that tourists to Himachal Pradesh should not miss. Narkanda also has a lake called the Tannu Jabar Lake which is one of the most important tourist attractions here. There also exists a temple near the lake which is a must-visit for all tourists and devotees coming here. Narkanda also has various trekking routes which all adventure-seekers should go for. Narkanda has a beautiful hill called Hatu Nag which one can trek up to. This hill offers a panoramic view of the town below and all adventure lovers traveling to this town should try it. One can also go skiing during the winter.
Hatu Peak lies on the Shimla-Rampur Highway nearly 71 km from Shimla. The roads are in good condition until Narkanda which is nearly 8 km from the peak. From here you can either trek for 8 km or go by bike or car. From there the peak can be accessed by bike or car but the road is difficult to use and only one car can climb at a time.
Attractions
1) The Hatu Mata Temple:
At the top of the peak is a small wooden temple called the Hatu temple. According to local belief, the famous Hatu Mata temple is the temple of Maa Kaali. People come in great numbers on the first Sunday of Jyeshtha to pay ritual here. There is an ancient stove-like formation of rocks near the temple. Locals believe that it was used by the Pandavas brothers to cook their food during their Agyaat Vaas.
